I had a series of public exhibitions that took place in the markets, city centers, and churches. Everybody was invited to come and see the photos. It was one of the rare moments that the indigenous people were treated with respect and dignity. The Indigenous people almost did not recognize themselves when dignified in photos. They would ask me from where those beautiful ladies were from. The women seeing the photo had never thought themselves to be beautiful or to have some dignity.
